Dr. Ulrike Prokes, MSc. (WU) MIM (CEMS)
My entry into the legal profession did not follow the traditional route, but began in business: after graduating from a commercial academy, completing a Master's degree in International Business Administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and working in various companies, I gained first-hand insight into how businesses think, operate and grow. Three semesters abroad have also sharpened my international perspective. In my work as a lawyer, I combine these two worlds of economic understanding with legal expertise in order to not only navigate paragraphs, but to develop solutions that are legally sound and commercially smart.
My focus areas are foundation law, business succession and real estate. In my dissertation, I comprehensively examined the organizational and governance structure of foundations – an academic background that enables me to precisely analyze complex structures and design them in a purposeful way.
When I'm not juggling laws and figures, you can find me on the tennis court in summer and on the ski slopes in winter. I express my creative side in the kitchen, from artistic cake design to perfecting homemade bread. I also draw inspiration from modern art and photography. Because creativity is the key to innovative solutions – even in the law.
